The Vine’s Expository Dictionary of the word ‘kingdom’ reveals the following: In the New Testament Greek the word is ‘basileia’ denoting “sovereignty, royal power, dominion”. In the Old Testament Hebrew two words are found: ‘malkut’ and ‘mamlakah’. ‘Malkut’ may be translated as “kingdom, reign or rule”. ‘Mamlakah’ denotes to “kingdom, sovereignty, dominion or reign.”
