In a vision I saw a group of knights. These were men of authority and influence, each one overseeing a small village in the same kingdom. They had all declared their allegiance to the king of the kingdom and were zealously engaging in battles and exploits in the name of the King.
Then I saw a humble bondservant at the feet of the King of that same kingdom. This bondservant’s only desire was to love and serve the King. He traveled with Lord on all His journeys and knew His every like and dislike, passion and dream. He simply loved to be with the Lord and serve in His courts.
Then the Lord spoke. “This bondservant is the one who really loves Me. He desires to be with Me. He desires to simply follow every footstep of Mine. It is to him that I will give My kingdom. The knights you saw, love My kingdom more than they love Me. They love the authority and influence. They love My name and the power thereof, more than they love Me. They love My words and decrees more than they love Me. These love Me, for what it does for them. They will eagerly submit under My authority as long as they know that they will benefit.
“Yet they do not really know Me. In their desire to do exploits in My Name, they sacrifice many things. Yet they sacrifice more for their own sake than for Mine. They work and labour to see their own village expanded. This is their desire.
“But the servant you saw, is the one to whom I will give the kingdom. It is he who knows My heart’s desire, pain and passion.
“Look and see that a change of season is at hand. The landscape of the kingdom is once again changing and the challenges that lay ahead many do not see nor understand. It is only those who through intimacy with Me and understanding of My ways, can see this change. They are being prepared for the appointed time when yet again new territory will be taken. Through intimacy I am now building a new heart in my servants. For if, in the times that lay ahead, you do not have My heart, you will not be found fit for the work of the kingdom. Many have built on My authority and in My name, but they have not learnt from Me and neither know My heart. These will slowly loose authority in the season that is upon us, until their exploits will become as nothing.
“Look at David, My servant. His heart was always to be with Me; yet he did the greatest of exploits. His desire was for Me. Even in the greatest times of victory and battle, his heart longed for My presence and courts. It is to such a one that I will give the kingdom. Purify your desire for Me. Examine your heart to see whether you are truly keeping in step with Me. Come and abide with Me, and you will learn the secrets of the kingdom at this time.”
